RedLeg Banana Rum is their superb original vanilla and ginger-infused spiced rum with the addition of one of the most iconic Caribbean products, the banana, which features in many traditional food and drinks from the region. Think banana and baking spices.
RedLeg is a brand owned by Distil Plc, a UK spirit company that also produces, amongst others, Blavod, Redleg Spiced Rum, Blackwoods Gin and Vodka. The Red Leg Spiced Rum Original was first launched in 2010 and has gone on to become a very popular spiced rum and is multi award-winning, notably winning a double gold in San Francisco in 2013. It has since been joined by this Banana rum, as well as a Pineapple, and a Tropical (mango, guava and passionfruit) rum.
RedLeg Banana Rum is named after the Red Legged Hermit Crab, an algae-loving crab from the Caribbean and western Atlantic, and popular in aquaria for its bright colour.
Banana rum can be enjoyed in a variety of cocktails, such as the Banana Colada, Banana Rum Mojito, or Banana Daiquiri. It also works well in dessert-inspired drinks, like a Banana Foster Old Fashioned or a Banana Cream Pie martini.
RedLeg Banana Rum has sweet, smooth vanilla and ginger notes joined by sweet banana.
