We are excited to be hosting a tutored Scotch whisky tasting with Bruce Perry of Mossburn Distillers and Blenders at Lysses House Hotel on Wednesday 1st May 2024.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to indulge in a selection of carefully curated expressions from Torabhaig and Mossburn distilleries. Bruce Perry will guide us through the tasting, sharing his wealth of knowledge and insights into these remarkable whiskies.
We will be trying the new release from Torabhaig, the first Sherry Cask (Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso) bottling they have produced, called Cnoc Na Moine, another step in the journey on the way to a 10 year old.
We will also be tasting Mossburn’s Signature Blends, Caisteal Chamuis, Torabhaig and some of Mossburn’s third party bottlings.
Tickets are £17.50 per person and are available at Fareham Wine Cellar and online.

About Mossburn
Mossburn Distillers and Blenders is an exciting new Scotch Whisky project owned by Marussia Beverages and we are privileged to have Bruce Perry, who is Mossburn’s Global Brand Manager, come and talk to us about their new project and show some of their current bottlings for tasting.
The company is young. The first bottling first bottling under the Mossburn name was released in 2017 as a range of classic Independent Bottler Malts. In the nearly three decades prior, the team developed and honed its skills in blending and bottling whiskies and a variety of other spirits. Their combined experience spans generations, with over a century of continuous family history in the Scotch Whisky industry.
About Torabhaig
Torabhaig is a new distillery on the island of Skye. It was founded in 2013 and is believed to be only the second distillery opened on Skye in over 190 years (the other, Talisker, was founded in 1930). The distillery is owned by Mossburn Distillers which is part of Swedish pharmaceutical billionaire, Frederick Paulsen’s, empire.
Torabhaig Distillery is located in a listed, 19th century traditional stone farm steading which has been painstakingly restored using local materials. The renovation project began in 2014, the stills and washbacks were commissioned and installed in 2016 and the first spirit flowed from the stills in 2017.
