Mackmyra Vintertradgard Swedish Single Malt Whisky is part of Mackmyra’s Moment Limited Edition of whiskies. It is a range of exclusive bottlings chosen by master blender Angela d’Orazio. These are bottled from specially selected casks quietly ageing away at the Bodås mine and on the island Fjäderholmarna. Mackmyra was founded by in 1999 by eight classmates from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with the first commercial whisky coming on stream in 2002.

The Mackmyra Vintertradgard is the 14th release from Mackmyra’s Moment range. It is a spicy, flavourful, Swedish malt whisky with intense fruity cask notes from an unusual oaking regime. Mackmyra Vintertradgard is aged in a combination of oak casks some of which have previously held raspberry wine and some which held wine made from cranberry and blueberries. Some of the whisky is also aged in Mackmyra’s special combination cask which are made with ex-Bourbon sides and Swedish oak ends.
