Torres Pazo das Bruxas Albarino is a Galician wine venture by the Torres Family, the world-famous Spanish wine producer. 

The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafranca del Penedès, southwest of Barcelona, since the 17th Century. Tradition combined with innovation, dynamism and commitment to quality has put Torres firmly on the world map. In 2006 Torres was awarded European Winery of the Year in Wine Enthusiast’s Annual Wine Star Awards. Torres Gran Coronas arose from the innovative drive of Miguel A. Torres, who planted the French variety of Cabernet Sauvignon in the Penedès region at the end of the 1960s and early 1970s when it was normal practice was to plant local white varieties. Thanks to this, Gran Coronas has become a benchmark for reserva red wines from Penedes. More recently that the company has expanded into other areas of Spain with wines such as this Albarino from Galicia and other projects in Priorat, Rueda and Rioja.

Torres Pazo das Bruxas Albarino is produced at the historic Torre Penelas estate, acquired by the family in 2012. The estate is situated in the municipality of Portas, near Pontevedra, and comprises a walled vineyard and a small winery some of which dates back to the 14th or 15th century. Two wines are produced, the Pazo das Bruxas and the Blanco Granito, the first wine to be fermented and aged in Galician granite. 

The Rías Baixas DO is comprised of five sub-regions: O Rosal, Condado de Tea, Soutomaior, Val do Salnés, and Ribeira do Ulla. The grapes used to produce Torres Pazo das Bruxas Albariño are sourced from the Val do Salnés sub-region. The Rías Baixas region is known for its Atlantic-influenced climate, featuring mild winters and high precipitation. However, it is also partially sheltered by the Azores, resulting in mild summers with little rainfall. The soils of the Val do Salnés sub-region are characterized by well-draining, sandy alluvial and rocky compositions.

After harvest, the grapes are left on the skins for two days of skin contact followed by vinification in stainless steel.
