Wasmunds Single Malt Whiskey is made at the Copper Fox Distillery in Virginia, USA.

The distillery was was founded in 2000 by Rick Wasmund annd is located at the at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Sperryville, Virginia. After a tentative start a new distillery was built and finished on 1st January 2005 equipped with its own floor maltings (they are the only distillery in North America to hand malt their own barley), kiln room, fermenters and pot stills from Vendome. First distillation was in January 2006. Copper Fox is dedicated to making the best American spirits, all pot-stilled in small batches and, although the copper spirit pot still can only produce one barrel at a time distillery output should soon exceed ten thousand cases of spirit per year. Rick Wasmund introduced some new ideas to whisky production including the use of different wood smokes to flavour the malted barley.

Wasmunds Single Malt Whiskey is made with malted barley that has been flavoured with apple and cherry wood smoke and is non-chill filtered. The whiskey also undergoes a secret secret chip and barrel aging process involving apple wood, cherry wood and oak chips, special selection and toasting technique. Aged in used Bourbon barrels for 14 months and bottled at 45%.
