Zuccardi La Fuerza Vermouth Rojo is a red vermouth made in Argentina from 100% Malbec grapes and over 30 Andean herbs and botanicals.
Zuccardi Wines was founded by Alberto “Tito” Zuccardi. Zuccardi was an engineer who had arrived in Mendoza from the Tucuman province of northwestern Argentina where his Italian grandparents had settled. Zuccardi was primarily working on irrigation systems which are very important in a region with minimal rainfall. In order to demonstrate his irrigation system he planted a vineyard in Maipu in 1963. This was the Zuccardi family’s entry into the world of wine. Construction of their first winery began in 1968. Zuccardi was followed into the business by his son, Jose, in 1976 and Jose’s son, Sebastian, now the Zuccardi winemaker, joined the family business in 2002. As well as producing some of Argentina’s very best wines, they also produce Port-style wines (Malamado and Soleria) and this fabulous vermouth.
La Fuerza Vermouth was created by four men from different parts of the drinks industry: third-generation winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi, food and beverage developer Agustin Camps, restaurateur, chef and sommelier Julian Diaz and journalist / entrepreneur Martin Auzmendi. The four men shared a common dream of creating a “Vermouth of the Andes” or “Vermu do los Andes”. They produce both a red (rojo) and white (blanco) version. The red version is based on Malbec grapes and the white version is based on Torrontes grapes.
Each bottle of La Fuerza Vermouth contains four ingredients: wine, botanicals, natural herbs, wine brandy and natural grape must. The wine and grape brandy is made in Mendoza, botanicals are from different parts of the country and the wild herbs are collected at the Andes foothills. The Vermouth is made and bottled in Mendoza.
Zuccardi La Fuerza Vermouth Rojo is intense, and spicy, with notes of red and black fruits. It is blended with over 30 botanicals local to Mendoza.
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
This red vermouth is good enough to drink neat over ice but comes into its own in cocktails and long drinks.
Try in a Negroni or as a long drink with ice, soda water and a slice of orange.

30 ml Gin
30 ml Campari
Add some large ice cubes to a tumbler. Add the gin, Campari and then the red vermouth. Stir gently to combine and garnish with a slice of orange.
