Briottet Lemoncelo Liqueur is a Lemon flavoured liqueur (known as Limoncello in Italy). This is based on the more famous Neopolitan liqueur and is made from just lemon, sugar and alcohol. It is made from 100% natural ingredients.
Maison Briottet is a family business, founded in 1836, and has been run by the 6th generation of the Briottet family, Claire and Vincent, since 2014. The Maison is located in the centre of the town of Dijon in the Burgundy wine-growing region. Originally, the family were negociants of Burgundy wine, involved with ageing, blending, bottling and selling the wines. Following the development and massive popularity of the Blanc Cassis Aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis also known as a Kir), in the 1900s, the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liqueurs, brandies and Marcs de Bourgogne.
Maison Briottet maintains a very high level of quality. It is the selection of the ripest fruit, locally sourced where possible, from the most suitable cultivars that provide for the finest flavours. The first step on the ladder in the process is contracting the right growers to produce the finest, best quality, ripe fruit. Then, at the headquarters, the fruits undergo carefully observed maceration with very pure neutral alcohol and blending with the correct proportion of sugars to achieve the balance between fruit flavour, sweetness, acidity and alcohol to create top of the range crèmes and liqueurs.
Briottet Lemoncelo Liqueur is 100% natural. It demonstrates an excellent balance between the natural freshness of lemon and a measured integrated sweetness. This makes it an incredibly versatile and appealing lemon liqueur that can be enjoyed on its own or incorporated into a variety of cocktails and desserts.
Briottet Lemoncelo is called Lemoncelo, simply to distinguish it from its more famous Italian cousin, Limoncello.
Briottet Lemoncelo has lovely aromas of fresh and cooked lemons. This is a bright and vibrant lemon liqueur with intense lemon notes, nicely capturing the essence of the fruit. Yet the liqueur also exhibits a well-balanced sweetness that prevents the acidity from becoming overpowering.
Drink cold or over ice.
Alternatively try in a cocktail, like the Cokello: add one measure of Lemoncelo for each two measure of white rum. Serve over ice with a slice of lemon. Top up glasses with cola to suit your thirst.
Or pour over lemon sorbet.
