Description

Briottet Liqueur de Rose is a rose liqueur made by Edmond Briottet in Dijon, France.

Maison Briottet is a family business, founded in 1836, and has been run by the 6th generation of the Briottet family, Claire and Vincent, since 2014. The Maison is located in the centre of the town of Dijon in the Burgundy wine-growing region. Originally, the family were negociants of Burgundy wine, involved with ageing, blending, bottling and selling the wines. Following the development, and massive popularity of the Blanc Cassis Aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis also known as a Kir), in the 1900s, the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and Marcs de Bourgogne.

Maison Briottet maintains a very high level of quality. It is the selection of the ripest fruit, locally sourced where possible, from the most suitable cultivars that provides for the finest flavours. The first step on the ladder in the process is contracting the right growers to produce the finest, best quality, ripe fruit. Then, at the headquarters, the fruits undergo carefully observed maceration with very pure neutral alcohol and blending with the correct proportion of sugars to achieve the balance between fruit flavour, sweetness, acidity and alcohol to create top of the range crèmes and liqueurs.

Briottet Liqueur de Rose brings out all the delicacy of the rose and is made by distilling rose petals. Extra-fine white sugar is added for sweetness.

Tasting Notes

Briottet Liqueur de Rose has a pale pink color that is reminiscent of rose petals. The liqueur has a sweet, floral aroma, with notes of fresh roses being most prominent. Sweet, delicate taste that is both complex and refreshing. It has a distinct floral flavor that is both sweet and slightly herbal, with a subtle bitterness that lingers on the palate. Liqueur de Rose has a lingering finish with a pleasant floral aftertaste that remains on the palate.

To Serve

Can be enjoyed on its own or used to add a unique flavor to cocktails. It pairs particularly well with champagne, vodka, or gin, and can be used to make a variety of drinks, from fruity spritzers to more complex, floral cocktails.

Try in a Rose Martini Cocktail:

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka, try Mamont Vodka
  • 1 oz Liqueur de Rose
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Edible rose petals (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, Liqueur de Rose, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  2. Shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
  4. Garnish with edible rose petals and serve.
