Chateau Cissac is a Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois from the Haut Medoc wine region of Bordeaux. In 1895, Jacques Mondon, a lawyer in Pauillac, acquired several vineyards in the parish of Cissac-Médoc. He combined these different vineyards under the name of Château Cissac. In 1940, Louis Vialard inherited the property from his grand-parents and set about the task of restoring the vineyards, the out-buildings and the family home. The Château is of a particular architectural style, an 18th century “chartreuse.” The vineyards at Cissac-Médoc, in the heart of Haut-Médoc appellation, cover some 50 hectares, and are planted to 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.
