Huber Weisser Burgunder Trocken, Baden

Description

Huber Weisser Burgunder Trocken is a dry, white wine made from Pinot Blanc grapes. Pinot Blanc is known as Weisserburgunder or Weisserburgunder in Germany. Weingut Bernhard Huber is located in Malterdingen in the east of the Baden region and is currently owned and run by Barbera and Julien Huber. The Baden region is located just across the Rhine from Alsace and is well-known for producing some of the best, and most powerful, German Pinot Blanc wines. Pinot Noir vines were bought to the region over 700 years ago by Cistercian monks who found that the local terroir, cool, wet weather and limestone soils were similar to those of Burgundy. Huber Weisser Burgunder Trocken is aged half in 500 litre wooden tonneau and half in stainless steel. The wine in stainless steel undergoes complete malolactic fermentation.
